NATURAL CLIMATE SYSTEMS IN MUSEUMS AND SPECIAL BUILDINGS
For museums, historical or special buildings, the regulation of the air humidity is the all-decisive variable. The primary objective of this is the protection of exhibits, the building structure or of highly-sensitive measurement instruments. This means that a continuous room air humidity of usually 50 % shall be maintained over the entire course of the year under heating or cooling conditions. Fluctuations of the humidity inside the room are caused by visitors of museums, operators of measurement instruments, the devices themselves, or other internal moisture sources. Heating and cooling have the same effect. These fluctuations have to be offset and/or compensated.
With the natural air-conditioning systems of ArgillaTherm, the HUMID modules take on the required humidity management.
Furthermore, the systems respond quickly and generate unrivaled high capacities for heating and cooling. This is owed to the system structure and the highly conductive base material, the HUMID modules.
Mainly the water-operated ceiling system is used as system option for heating and cooling. However, the electrical ceiling system for heating purposes only is also a viable solution, if no water-operated systems are required inside the building.
The utilization of HUMID modules in a water-operated system offers the following advantages:
- Reduction of the total investment by 15 to 30 %.
- Reduction of the maintenance and service costs by at least 60 %.
- Safe utilization of the arising moisture in the building (reliable simulations on the humidity behavior can be prepared on request).
- Cooling can be permanently operated with a supply temperature of up to 6 °C below the dew point. Prerequisite for unrivaled high cooling capacities and an uninterrupted cooling operation.
- Due to its structure and highly-conductive base material, the system responds quickly and generates unrivaled high capacities for cooling.
- Building air-conditioning is virtually CO2-neutral, which has an extremely positive effect on the eco-balance of the building and provides for funding opportunities.
- Optimum room air humidity in summer and winter.
- Room climate suitable for allergy sufferers and asthmatics.
- Bottom line: this is an energy-efficient, cost-effective, and virtually CO2-neutral air-conditioning system for the creation of the perfect room climate.
The utilization of HUMID modules in an electrical system offers the following advantages:
- Omission of any system technology (centralized heat generator, pipe network, chimney, boiler room etc.).
- Maintenance and repair costs as well as heating cost accounting for rentals are omitted.
- No operating expenses for pumps and servo motors on the heating manifold.

ArgillaTherm is an expert for the equipment of museums, historical and special buildings. The natural climate ceilings were also installed in the World Heritage project of the Schlangenhaus in Dessau, for instance. Ventilation is provided naturally via the windows here.

Room acoustics
The systems themselves are reverberating, they can easily be combined with all common acoustic solutions, such as baffles or noise ring absorbers by utilizing existing interfaces.
